The STAIN+ suite

   
 

The STAIN+ suite has been developed specifically for companies in the discrete cycle MANUFACTURING sector (automotive, taps and fittings, die-casting, plastic moulding, mechanical workshops, etc.), namely ones with batch or job production using automatic machines and/or manual processes.

 

 

The STAIN+ suite comprises configurable and parametrizable  STANDARD PRODUCTS that are simple to use and quick to install, and custom solutions developed for specific customer requirements, based on a feasibility study starting from a large FRAMEWORK, i.e. a series of objects that implement the basic functions to be customized in order to handle the specificities of production, logistics and process control flows.

 

This diversification is required because, while specific computerisation requirements can be standardized and codified in a product meeting field requirements (e.g. data collection, SPC and machine maintenance), others (e.g. logistics, traceability, process control, tool and  mould management) require a thorough analysis before being used by a particular business. They depend on the production site, corporate culture, special cases requiring control, material flows, organisation and many other variables that are impossible to codify in a single standard. We have thus developed truly computerized solutions to meet these requirements, to the immense satisfaction of our clients, thanks to organisational advantages (fewer errors, less paper, easy use by operators, etc.) and economic advantages (fewer goods in stock, lower costs, no redundancies, etc.).

   

Standard Products. The standard products of the STAIN+ suite are sold as server and client licences. We also provide a range of services, including product installation and configuration, which take several days.  Standard products are:

   

PRD+ Module: Data collection and production events. Having definite and shared information available automatically and in real time is now a vital requirement for revealing hidden costs. The PRD+ is a “lens” for highlighting hidden costs and also a “gauge” for measuring continuous improvements.

SPC+ Module: Process Control. Product quality control is fundamental, but taking measurements by hand is now extremely expensive and offers very few advantages. The SPC+ solution prevents the formation of rejects by keeping the process under control.

Module MTZ+: Maintenance management (plant and machinery). The module is the STAIN+ solution for controlling the ordinary and incidental maintenance process, and it can be integrated with the production control module.

Having made numerous successful installations for important clients (<References...>), it is fair to claim that our know-how and method, applied to your organisation and suited to your requirements, will provide the best solution for your company and process. This sort of approach does not mean re-writing the software each time, but rather, based on our engineers’ know-how and experience, identifying the particular features of your processes, and, by designing suitable interfaces and procedures, forcing our framework to computerize them in order to achieve the competitive advantage which could be impossible with a standard package that would cause the organisation to lose the flexibility and distinctive features that differentiate it from its rivals.

 

Our custom solutions, all of which are integrated with standard products, are developed starting from an extensive FRAMEWORK (a collection of objects computerizing the basic functions) that is personalized to suit the customer’s needs highlighted using STAIN’s engineering method called SPM&BI - STAIN PROJECT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT, which starts with a feasibility study and covers all stages of the project. LGT Framework: Logistics and tracking. Our logistics solutions, which are closely integrated with ERP, allow the customer to know the exact stocks of finished products, as well as WIP and raw materials by tracking all their movements.

UTS Framework: Tool management. Computerized management of cycle charts, tools, spindles and inserts. Reduces tooling times and stocks of tools, automatically reorders tooling based on production orders and allows objective supplier assessment.

STP Framework: Mould management. Manages and tracks the life, location, status and activities of moulds, dies, blocks, plugs, one of the most critical points in foundries involved in pressure die-casting or the moulding of brass, steel or plastic. A perfectly efficient tool increases press output and reduces the number of rejects.
