Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta is a world leader in the manufacture of firearms. The company turns out around 1,500 portable guns a day, covering virtually the entire range: field and competition over-and-unders and side-by-sides with different gauges and standards of finish, semi-automatic and automatic rifles, express rifles, semi-automatic pistols (from cal. 22 short to cal. 45 auto) and automatic military rifles.

Field and competition guns account on average for 90% of production, and over 75% of them are exported to a hundred or so countries.

Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta chose the STAIN+ suite for handling and controlling field production and logistics flows to achieve the following aims:

• Identifying and tracking bundles of incoming raw materials and control stocks locations and lots.

• Monitoring machine and operator productivity.

• Identifying and tracking all containment units (WIP warehouses) for immediate visibility of raw materials and finished products, and also all unfinished products stage by stage, plus lot tracking.

• Handling electronically production orders issued by the management system to eliminated paper and manual recording of items and activities in the departments, which are always the source of errors and inaccuracies and are low-value-added.

• Having powerful cockpits allowing periodic analysis of performance, efficiency, OEE, rejects, operator activities and stocks at each stage in order to highlight all possible areas of improvement and assess the validity of the corrective and preventive actions implemented.
